county of Wiltshire. The 'Puttall' referred to in the early 18th century is now in the far western part of Little Bedwyn parish. This is to the east of Marlborough and at the edge of Savernake Forest. The surviving names are Puthall Farm and Puthall Park but it was a separate estate from 1166, which in the early 18th century was a part of the Savernake Estate owned by the Marquesses of Ailesbury. At this time it was known as Puttel or Puttell.

Clay pipes were made in the town in the earlier 17th century. The manufacture was at its height c. 1700 but had declined by c. 1750 when there was only A pipe maker. BA lace was made in the 17th century .In the 18th century, numerous clock makers, were at work in the period 1769–97 but by 1865 there was only A. Pin making was another occupation in the area as was cheesemaking the cheeses were made thin for quick drying, & became popular in London.

after 1750 there were no more Hornblow baptisms in the Barnes register so a reasonable presumption is that they moved to Halstead for some reason - where Jeronimo was recorded as Jeronima which morphed into Jeremiah ?

The heartlessness of the time...The widowed Elizabeth Hornblow in Braintree. After John’s death the Baptist Church in Braintree formulated a creed with rules laid down and discipline exercised. Under this new Order & Elizabeth was, in 1819, censored and dismissed from Braintree and went to Kentish Town in London where the Baptist Church in Kepple Street received her. She died there two years later
