Obviously there was more than one Ebenezer Hornblow.
Ebenezer son of Rev John . Born 1788 he would have been of suitable age to go as an apprentice in 1800 -
so by 1820 he would have been an Master Silversmith.
Ebenezer son of John Hornblow deceased - the apprentice silversmith in 1820 had to be the son of a different John.
Why the 2nd does not fit as the Ebenezer son of Rev John in 1820 ?
A) If he was born in 1788 he would have been 32 in 1820 & apprentices were invariably 12 to 15 years old
B) the son of Rev John appears to have married by 1820.
This was either son of one of the other Hornblow based in Halstead younger brothers or maybe a grandson;
Or he was son of John Hornblow the Coal dealer, & his wife Elizabeth Archer That father John died in 1798 but there is no Ebenezer recorded to that couple.
